Growing up I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to spend some of my summer days fishing with my Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop. I remember them waking me up so early in the morning that I think the sun wasn’t even fully up yet. We fished ALL day long and didn’t return until dinner time. My Mom-Mom packed peanut butter and cheese crackers and sandwiches and we swatted at green heads all day. Fishing really wasn’t my thing and I was a tad bit scared. I was terrified to put my hand in a bucket of minnows and would never, ever put a hook through my minnow. I was happy just to be with my Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop and I wish that I could go back in time and do it again.
My Mom-Mom was something special. She could whip up a delicious meal in no time. One of my favorites was her fried flounder. I can picture her right now standing in her kitchen prepping all of her freshly caught flounder to be fried on her stovetop. Sadly, those days are gone, but thankfully I can hold onto that memory with this flounder recipe. I hope this recipe can create memories for you and your loved ones!
