Buffalo (Bison) Burgers

Buffalo or Bison has becoming much more popular.  After hearing a lot about Bison Meat, we decided to give it a shot by making Buffalo Burgers.  We are so glad that we tried these out because they turned out absolutely incredible.  If you are trying to watch what you are eating and are looking for a healthy alternative to red meat, buffalo is your answer.  Even if you are not trying to eat healthier, you need to try buffalo.   Trust us on this one.  We would describe the flavor of buffalo to be similar but a bit sweeter than your typical burger.  Check out the nutritional comparisons on the chart below.

Ingredients

  • package of Buffalo meat
  • Burger Buns
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Toppings: Onion, Ketchup, Mustard, Tomato, etc.

Directions

  • In a bowl, combine buffalo meat, salt, and pepper.
  • Form into small balls and then form the balls into patties.
  • Brush the burgers with olive oil.
  • Preheat grill.  Cook burgers for a few minutes on each side, flipping once.  Do not press down on burgers while they cook or the juice will run from them and they will be dry.
