Green Monster

The “Green Monster” gets its name from the spinach that is in this smoothie.  You heard correct, spinach.  Adding Spinach to your smoothie is the perfect way to get some greens into your diet first thing in the morning.  This smoothie is especially great after returning from long hot runs.  So freshing.  But its great for any morning, as well!  And if you are wondering, you truly cannot taste the spinach in this smoothie…trust us!  Give it a try for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of vanilla almond milk (sweetened or unsweetened…we use unsweetened) OR vanilla soy milk OR regular milk! **note** Sometimes we like to use half a cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and half a cup of regular milk…
  • Handful of spinach
  • Scoop of peanut butter (we like to use Naturally More…the flax seeds in this PB give the smoothie a nice taste/texture….but any brand of PB will do!)
  • Frozen banana
  • Few ice cups
